About the role:

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Procurement Manager that will be responsible for the end-to-end procurement process of our projects, ensuring that procurement is completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality specification. As Procurement Manager you will work as an integral part of the Gentari Team in driving each project’s key procurement objectives, while managing various stakeholders and ensuring purchasing compliance for Gentari’s portfolio of utility scale solar PV and energy storage projects across Australia. This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity that requires strong communication, technical understanding and proactive management. The role suits someone that possesses excellent organisational skills, is passionate about the renewable energy industry and will thrive in a dynamic and evolving environment.

Responsibilities:

  • End-to-end management of procurement and purchasing for Solar PV and BESS equipment from Global suppliers.
  • Establish networks and working partnerships with key vendors.
  • Actively lead supplier contract strategy, development, negotiations and contract execution.
  • ‘Day to day’ involvement in all the Procurement activity within the business to ensure efficient management of the procurement service and business targets.
  • Coordinates with all value chain stakeholders and suppliers to deliver high quality procurement needs, including technical input with design requirements and specifications to ensure requirements are clearly defined, communicated, and satisfied.
  • Drive cost savings and efficiency improvements by analysing procurement data and implementing best practices.
  • Interact with business unit and cost centre personnel to affect the timely release of all technical and project related requirements, needs and changes.
  • Complete purchasing to ensure alignment with the Gentari Procurement Policy and Processes.
  • Proactively prevent and manage supplier defects with each supplier.
  • Full understanding of Key EPC Players including tech providers and service providers within Australia and maintain updated Approved Vendor List for Australia in collaboration with Global Procurement team.
  • Independently manage procurement initiatives, demonstrating your ability to take ownership and deliver results
  • Develop, implement, and maintain a voluntary modern slavery statement for the business and ethical protocols for supply chain.
  • Be the point of contact between Australia and the Global Procurement team, contributing to the global procurement policies, aligning procurement activities globally and leveraging global procurement activities.

 

Skills and Experience

  • Formal qualification in Engineering/Law/Procurement.
  • 5+ years of experience within the renewables industry.
  • Experience of leading a small team.
  • Proven excellent customer service, written and oral communication.
  • Strong commercial / contractual experience in negotiating infrastructure contracts including sound knowledge technical and legal requirements.
  • Demonstrate extensive knowledge and experience of Solar PV and BESS purchasing fundamentals.
  • Experience in the management of bids, contract negotiation, contract formation and execution.
  • Effectively able to participate in or lead teams and collaboration cross-functionally.
  • Ability to assess and establish priorities for self and others, demonstrate flexibility and understand/communicate sense of urgency.
  • Self-motivated, excellent problem-solving abilities and proven decision-making skills.
