General

You will play a crucial role in our expanding O&M team, based at the Central Processing Unit (CPU), providing engineering support to all solar farms under Gentari Australia. This opportunity is perfect for individuals with extensive experience in utility-scale solar farm operations and a background in electrical engineering, who are eager to join a rapidly advancing O&M team with a great culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • As member of the CPU, promptly action the events/incidents escalated via the various stake holders.
  •  Support and guide Plant Mangers /Site technicians to rectify operational issues.
  • Effectively and efficiently manage minor projects assigned related to solar farms.
  • Carryout root cause analysis on plant events using internal and external resources.
  • Investigating & responding to NSP/AEMO/GPS compliance issues
  • Remote switching of Solar Plants & associated equipment if required.
  • Managing warranty claims.
  • Verifying and interpreting service test reports.
  • Carrying out performance data analytics to identify performance gaps.
  • Engaging external consultants /subject matter experts when required.
  • Reviewing and updating existing O&M manuals.
  • Support and guide control room operators in daily operations.
  • Handling and managing complex activities related to solar farms.
  • Working with subject matter experts to create Best Operating Practices (BOP’s)
  • Participate in the weekend/holiday working roster.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years utility scale solar plant operational and troubleshooting experience
  • Electrical Engineering background (AC knowledge required)
  • Knowledge on SCADA &, networking and power generation
  • Familiar with HV systems/switchgear and switching procedures
  • Knowledge of power systems/ Elspec sapphire software
  • Practical trouble shooting knowledge of solar farm equipment
  • Familiar with AEMO/ NSP operational requirements
  • Operational knowledge of SMA/Ingeteam utility scale inverters
  • Excellent time management and coordination skills
  • Attention to detail and working under pressure
  • Great negotiation skills and influence with senior stakeholders
  • Willingness to learn and work in a team environment, contributing to an unique company culture
  • Tech savvy and good Microsoft Excel knowledge required
  • Self-motivated and proud to be involved in the clean energy revolution.
